Step 1

When you are serious about making your wedding proposal, plan a date and time that allows you and your mate to be together without a hint of letting out your secret. During a casual conversation while driving, dining, or during a romantic moment, you might say: "What do think about heading up to Vermont and take a romantic carriage or sleigh ride?" That ought to get things started.

You could tie it into a Fall Foliage, Ski/Snow Board weekend at Bromley, Stratton, Jiminy Peak, all within an hour from your carriage ride and an overnight stay at The Henry House Inn.

Really, you don't have to plan this evening around any special event or get-away, but it might be cool to arrange this proposal around a birthday, the anniversary of your first date [don't think she doesn't remember], a celebration of your sport team's victory, a road trip in your new car or bike. You could take this time as an 'over nite'....on your way to see a school buddy, family that is on your weekend away. The possibilities are many, and we'd be glad to offer ideas or work with you on your thoughts, to make this a sparkling success. We have done a fair amount of these 'Special Private Rides', and we are proud to have a 100% "Yes" to the big question.

Step 2

Email or call, to put this special package together. You can book just the ride, or a package that is sure to sweep her off her feet. We can complete the entire proccess from available rides, room rates, and payment...all on line.

An example for you to think about........You arrive at The Henry House Inn an hour before dusk. We take a horse drawn carriage on an hour or so ride on a quiet country road, returning to the Inn, where upon I suggest you go mosey on in to the 'Keeping Room', where a crackling fire place, romantic candle lights, and champagne [or your favorite beverage] await you with complete privacy. A cheese and cracker setting on the coffee table will help fill any possible craving for finger food, and give you a moment or two to pop the cork. The rest is up to you, but you couldn't ask for a better 'lead in' to make this a most memorable moment for both of you.

As the fire turns to embers, we'll be in the kitchen area to congratulate you, and be the 3rd & 4th person to see the ring. From there you can take your goodies from the fireplace area and scoot off to your room, or head out on the town for a gourmet diner, a movie, or a casual sports bar, where good food and drink await you.
